Bill Amend and Foxtrot
Basically, a Foxtrot strip goes in one direction, then twists itself around in the last panel. If you read a whole book collection in one sitting, the formula becomes apparent, but it works.....
As far as "lost" strips of Foxtrot go.....
Strange scene, eh? This, to my knowledge, is the ONLY Foxtrot strip that was deleted from the book collections.   If you look in "Welcome to Jasorassic Park" and "Camp Foxtrot," which is where it would have gone, you will only find a corner of it, chewed up, and two iguanas running away. I'm thinking Amend did this on purpose, and he probably had a reason--this is too weird to print anyway.

The date was April 1, 1997, and there was an interesting deal taking place on the comics page--as an April Fools' joke, every cartoonist drew somebody ELSE'S strip. Amend had mentioned earlier how badly he wanted to draw Nancy's hair, so that strip is probably where he was. On the flip side, the "Nancy" artists had to draw HIS strip, and he apparently didn't like the results.....

Little-known fact: Bill Amend's last name is pronouced "AY-mund," like "Raymond" is pronounced.
