Issue #3 :: Raiders of the Lost Arc II :: Rls. Date: 12.29.01
Page Count: 44

Description: My favorite story I ever wrote is something called "Raiders of the Lost Arc." Through a series of events, Joan of Arc is resurrected in the present day and gets a second chance at life. (She mysteriously now has a lighted candle sticking out the back of her head, and doesn't know what it means.)

The media finds out and she's soon swamped with attention--which takes a turn for the worse when she inadvertently sets in motion events that could lead to World War III. Things get even worse when followers of Osama bin Laden capture her (of course, I had no idea what was ahead)...against all odds, could she save the world again? (SPOILER: she does.)

"So why isn't it on the site?" you ask...because it's from '98. There are a lot of icky dialogue choices and bad-art people that look like they were manufactured by Fisher Price. (Plus, I wish I'd come up with a more original title.)

You're much better off with the sequel. Very few people saw part 1, but those that saw part II really really enjoyed it. In fact, it's the only time I ever got THIS as a comment: "It's too short."

This is the site's 9/11 cartoon, and what a cartoon it is...

Issue #2 :: Riot Act #2 :: Rls. Date: 01.26.02
Page Count: 24

Description: The first time this site was under a domain, it was registered as platypuscomix.com. Several people said they visited my site and then asked me questions about strange things that weren't on it...leading to my discovery that another domain had the very similar name of platypusCOMICS.com. From there, this story almost wrote itself.

You'll be going into this almost blind. Most of the characters in this cartoon no longer exist on the site, and neither does "Riot Act" itself--its main purpose was to be a variety series, which proved to be unnecessary.

Kevin Hines's Platypuscomics.com is still there, and it hasn't been updated in the five years since I drew this. Neither has Hines ever been notified that this clash happened!
