I haven't seen much in the way of comic material, except for this Groo. I sometimes see manga, but nothing better than a lacerated copy of One Piece. Manga is something I've never been able to get into anyway. Now that they're free, it wouldn't hurt to attempt to start....but I wouldn't know where to begin.

Luckily, I also found this!

The ultimate introduction to the land of speed lines! It's like stuffing MarzGurl in your pocket -- warm AND educational. It tells about all the most popular and relevant manga characters, like....

ADOLF HITLER! And more!

There are a lot of comic book companies in Portland. Dark Horse, Oni, BlueWater (technically in Vancouver), and this Bowler Hat Comics, which to date has only published three things. Two of those things showed up at Schoolhouse Supplies. Several copies, in fact. I hope they were donated, because usually, anything that shows up here in quantity isn't a good sign. I did eventually find traditional comic books...but from Mexico. They're all translations of old American comics, and don't look like they'd be that mindblowing even if I could understand the word balloons. The "Tom and Jerry Ghostbusters" one (a parody which happens nowhere in the actual comic itself) was printed in 1994 and includes an ad in the middle for a comic adaption of The Mask -- or, rather, "The Mascara."

They just got "The New Little Archie." They're gonna enjoy it while it lasts. They were about to get this too:
